Hi all,
Great Attitude Sean and others and have very much enjoyed the conversations.

Our Faculty of Education have given many of their staff iPads (project) to see if this would enhance their teaching, prep, research and for whatever they found useful!  

I think any tool used wisely is the key!

Three cheers for the Ipads. I have just secured some for our kids and we now have one for every child. Not only is motivation to complete simple tasks like writing or computation in creative way high amongst children they seem to naturally take to some of the apps we have loaded on that enable more creative flare!! Eg puppets production has allowed one of our creative sorts the ability to retell his story in a funny way. The pedagogy I see coming from this is more independent and multiple pathways. If its new don’t be scared…think of ways to embrace it and use it creatively rather the ignore it.

I do love iPads, have seen some great success with them this year in the hands of Yr 7 and 8's.


They seem to be personal - the kids love to use them and are making great progress with them.
One young lady, who is dyslexic actually enjoys typing on the touch screen, she has never "written" so much in all her life.
Our ESOL students are using some really neat apps to build sentences and practice conversation skills.
I understand what you are saying about another tablet - however a number of my colleagues from other schools using other tablets have had problem after problem with their other tablets.
I love the portability  -almost as universal as a laptop, with a much more personal feel.
I can't wait to see what else we can do with them.

Aren’t they just tablets? IEe: a laptop without a keyboard but a touchscreen instead.
