Hi all,
Hi Tessa,This is brilliant stuff! I'm really looking forward to exploring your resources (below) over the next week or so. Great to know there are a few of us 'game advocates' out there :)cheers,EdwinOn 11/05/2012, at 11:53 AM, Tessa Gray wrote:This is a wonderful thread. Thank you so much Edwin for sharing your gaming experiences in context. Sometimes effective examples can be a positive tipping point for challenging existing views.
There are also some useful threads in the VLN, that people might want to engage with:• Enabling e-Learning Teaching thread: Game-based learning: Are you playing?• VLN community group: Learning through games
• Enabling e-Learning Teaching Poll: Are digital games detrimental to our student’s wellbeing?
Using games like Grapple is a great interactive way to get students engaging with real life scenarios (in this case, pop up windows) to encourage online safety and digital citizenship.

I’ve collated some games for numeracy, literacy as well as social conscious games here:

Some people might also be interested in the research and readings that sit alongside gaming in education.

Thank again for this :-)
