Hi Catriona
What a great video showing how access to knowledge can empower people. The idea of using the existing noticeboard emphasises that change can occur just by altering one component, in this case
adding the knowledge gained via the internet yet relaying it, in an a non-digital way. Sometimes I think we get too excited by the technology and forget about the learning and how technology can enhance
what we do in class.
I too went to ULearn13 and was exposed to so many amazing educators and ideas. I would encourage teachers to access the information available from the links Catriona has shared. We are becoming connected and collaborative educators.

Have a great day

Kia ora and welcome everyone to term 4 - I hope your holidays were both restful and refreshing.

This week my focus is on growing knowledge and I want to ask you the questions -
“Are you growing knowledge?”
“How do you connect with other educators to grow their learning?”

During the holidays I was lucky enough to attend and present at #ULearn13. One of the most mind-blowing aspects for me was the way in which educators so freely share their knowledge, resources and experiences for others to benefit from.

Not going to a presentation does not exclude you from participating in the learning via the google docs, the twitter feed or the conversations in and around the venue.

Even after the conference is over I find myself trawling back through the twitter stream, reading the reflections of others and favoriting the tweets that really resound with me.

Here is the link to the twitter feed which is well worth checking out as there are some great reflections, images and resources linked from tweets.
Another reflection you may like to read is Four ideas in evolution by Karen Melhuish-Spencer.

The idea of growing knowledge came through strongly in this  reflection by Nic Mason @fuse711 "no one cares what you know anymore, it's about showing what you can do with what you know" to reinforce this Nic linked to this YouTube clip.

I hope you enjoy these links and will share back with us your thoughts, so we can all grow our knowledge together.
